I am so honored to have been included in the new book Mom Boss: Balancing Entrepreneurship, Kids & Success. The book is a great read for aspiring entrepreneurs, but digs deep into what it takes to start and manage a business while also caring for a family.
The reality is that it takes a lot to start a business. If you do it right, you can also manage a family, but there will be late hours and early morning hours in the mix. The key is to follow your passion knowing you have to do things differently.
I enjoy working with Mom Bosses. I have several as clients. They are very efficient and are really good at not trying to be the expert on everything. They take things slowly. They don’t over invest or over spend. They want to make informed decisions. We support them by managing their business finances, pointing out issues as they arise, and discussing strategies and options. We analyze the numbers together. We understand where they are profitable and where they are not and they change course accordingly. We work as a team.
As a result, I am seeing major successes and businesses with longevity from these ladies. I think there is something to be said for how they choose to manage.
I highly recommend the book. It contains inspiring stories and useful tips. If you are dreaming of being a Mom Boss, this book will help you on your journey.
